June 2005 1st Week Tina Wright Nature Photographer, Tina Wright takes a very creative
approach to her landscape imagery. Not content to always take the straight
forward “natural” look in her scenics, she employs camera
tilt, special filters, extreme low or high angles when she thinks it will
create a more unusual final image. This scene, taken in the Superstition
Mountains of Arizona is an example of her creativity. Using a wide angle
lens, Tina moved in close to the Chain fruit Cholla Cactus and placed
it in the lower left of the frame. By moving her tripod she placed the
distant mountain in the upper right creating balance in the composition.
Her choice of film Kodak E 100 VS produces very saturated colors and with
the addition of a blue/yellow polarizer this overpowering “painterly”
scene is the result. |
