Giraffe Stefano Crosio (Giraffa camelopardalis). I took this photograph on the Okavango Delta, in Botswana, one late afternoon during a fascinating photo safari. I was following this giraffe in my viewfinder for a while when I noticed that it was about to pass by an oblique tree which could make for an interesting composition if the giraffe had its long neck parallel to the tree. The warm late afternoon light would add a nice touch to the image. I therefore waited for the perfect timing and took the shot. Nikon F100, Nikkor AF 80-400 D VR, beanbag, Velvia 50 pushed one stop |
